First and foremost it's demoralizing to watch a cancer victim waste away. If that isn't bad enough, burdens mount - not just financial, but the emotional, physical and spiritual needs of not only the patient but also his/her families. Learn about our resources>>
Most medical facilities do not have adequate housing for short or long-term stay for family members during out-of-town visitations (i.e. radiation therapy).
Hospital cafeterias get expensive over time, local restaurants even more so.
Travel from home to and from the hospital increases personal expenses in an already stretched budget.
We believe in giving compassionately to cancer victims and their families. The project's purpose is to collect money or gifts-in-kind to perpetuate the fund, to create public awareness of the terrible financial, emotional, and physical constraints cancer has or had upon the afflicted victim and his/her families, and to provide through gifts to select cancer victims and their families that making a difference does provide hope.
